The process of making liqueurs can be done using any of the 4 methods namely: maceration, percolation or distillation. Each method produces a different flavour and aroma. In the method of maceration, soft fruits like bananas, strawberries, raspberries are added to the alcohol itself. It extracts the essence from these ingredients. For distillation, the ingredients are added to the alcohol and the entire mixture is distilled together. For percolation, the base spirit is dripped through the
flavoring ingredients so that the essences is extracted. The base spirit is then added to the tank and heated. Liqueurs burst with flavour and hence using only a small amount is essential. It can be mixed in a number of drinks like cocktails, soda, tea, milk, coffee, Kombucha and they also go extremely well with desserts.
